FIELD: weapons.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to military equipment and can be used in engineering of penetrating missiles with blast warhead. The technical result is achieved due to the fact that the detonating device includes an independent adaptive gauge providing for unstable retardation determined by holding mode based on overload level at the moment of encountering an obstacle. The method involves warhead action when hitting the target either on the obstacle surface or inside it depending on whether the detonator is set for an instant or slowed-down action. When a target is encountered, the level of overload exerted upon the warhead is estimated by means of an autonomous adaptive target gauge, and depending on this estimation the blast charge is initiated either on the obstacle surface or inside it.
EFFECT: increased combat efficiency of hitting a wide spectrum of targets.
