FIELD: technological processes; metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises roller bed and cooling headers with flat jet nozzles. High density of cooling, availability of both turbulent zone and zone of even cooling are provided due to the fact that adjacent headers are installed at the distance of (0.3÷0.9)×H, where H is distance from nozzle end to support plane of roller bed, nozzles are installed with pitch equal to (0.8÷1.7)×H×tgβ/2, where β is angle of nozzle torch opening along larger axis, at that every pair of adjacent headers has nozzles installed with shift in direction of header axis by half of pitch between them, angle of their incline towards each other relative to vertical line makes 10°÷20°, and larger axis of nozzle outlet opening ellipse creates angle 5°÷25° with header longitudinal axis.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of cooling and reduction of cooler flow required for cooling of hot rolled sheet and strip in rolling mills.
