FIELD: metallurgy industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ferrous metallurgy, and namely to out-of-furnace processing of metallurgical melts by means of powdered reagents. Flux cored wire consists of a steel jacket and a filler containing a mechanical mixture of ground powdered alloy SK30, granular calcium, and additionally, it contains granular magnesium. Filler component content, wt %, is as follows: ground powdered alloy SK30 - 85-71; granular calcium (Ca) - 14.99-19.0; and granular magnesium (Mg) - 0.01-10.0. Content of filler and steel jacket, wt %, is as follows: 51-70 and 30-49 respectively, and filling factor of flux cored wire is 0.5-0.7. For processing steel with low sulphur concentration, content of granular magnesium in the filler of flux cored wire, wt %, is as follows: 0.01 to 0.5, and for processing steel with high sulphur concentration, content of granular magnesium in the filler of flux cored wire, wt %, is as follows: 1.0 to 10.0.
EFFECT: improving steel desulphurisation, providing the possibility of processing steel with high sulphur concentration, improving degree of calcium uptake, and ensuring more complete globularisation of nonmetallic inclusions.
