WIRE WITH FILLER FOR OUT-OF-FURNACE TREATMENT OF METALLURGICAL MELTS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC C21C1/00 C21C7/00

Abstract RU 2723863 C1

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy and can be used for out-of-furnace treatment of melts of iron or steel, in particular, for deoxidation, desulphurisation and modification of iron-carbon alloys by powder wire with filler. Proposed wire comprises steel shell with filler made up of at least one element selected from group consisting of Ca, Ba, Sr, Mg, Si, Al, wherein on the inner and/or outer surface of the coating there is applied at least one layer of the composite coating made from the paint material and containing ultrafine particles selected from compounds of carbides and/or nitrides and/or carbonitrides and/or silicides and/or metal borides.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain uniform distribution of ultrafine substances along the entire length of the flux cored wire and, as a result, throughout the melt volume, to provide more accurate calculation of the required amount of the introduced powder wire; avoiding coagulation of introduced particles, increasing specific surface of modifier contact with molten metal, providing maximum mastering of modifier with molten metal and modifying metal structure due to creation of additional crystallization centres.
