SUBSTANCE: invention concerns technics of antenna measurings and can be used for examination of an amplification constant of antennas of various radio engineering systems. In the method of measuring of an amplification constant of the antennas, including formation of high-frequency signals by means of the generator erected on the spreading surface, measuring of power Pe of the generated signal, radiation of this signal on a wave length λ. By means of the reference measuring antenna with known effective area Seff in a direction of the explored antenna located in a long-range band, reception by this antenna of a signal, measuring of power of accepted signal Pa and evaluation of an amplification constant of the antenna under the formula 
radiate and accept signals reference measuring and explored by the antennas disposed so that their phase centres were at identical height h from a spreading surface and apart between antennas 
EFFECT: increase of measurement accuracy of amplification constant of antennas in metre and decimeter range of wave length.
