FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and particularly to a.c. or d.c. commutator motors without additional poles. The invention is intended for actuating machines and mechanisms in cases when the determinant factors for motor operation are high motor power and reliable operation of current-collecting equipment. The above technical result is achieved by fitting equalised number of each winding turn active sides in each layer of armature groove. In addition parts of brushes are directly coupled with feed wire of a.c. and d.c. power supply terminals isolated from each other. The brush parts are situated from each other at a distance, which is no less than commutator plate thickness, and as wide as contact with commutator, indicated as A. The width value has to satisfy the following conditions: A ≤ (m - 1)βK + Δ, where m - number of armature winding turns; βk - segment pitch; Δ - insulation thickness between armature plates.
EFFECT: simple design and improved reliability of current-collecting equipment (absence of valves and more reliable mechanical parts of composite brushes) and possibility of feeding with ac voltage.
