FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to hydrotechnical construction, namely to earth dams with antifiltration device. Dam comprises upper and lower prisms and geotextile water-permeable layer installed in between with protective layer adjacent on the lower side. Upper prism or at least its element is made of suffosion soil. Rated diameter of georextile water-conveying opening in its every section at first provides creation of transitional layer directly upstream geotextile, where pore space in material of upper prism is mudded with non-cohesive soil according to principle of return filter, then creation of antifiltration layer upstream of this transitional layer, where pore space in upper prism material is mudded by cohesive soil. Rated diameter of geotextile water-conveying opening in its every section satisfies the following conditions:

, where - maximum diameter of suffosion soil particles, displacement of which by filtration flow in direction of geotextile is temporarily impossible; - maximum diameter of soil particles, for which parameters of filtration flow established directly after water level increase upstream the dam, provide possibility of their displacement from upper prism to considered section of geotextile; - maximum diameter of soil particles, for which geometric dimensions of pores in soil of upper prism provide possibility of their displacement to considered section of geotextile.

EFFECT: higher reliability of dam and its seismic stability by increase of antifiltration layer quality and reduce expenses by simplification of works in process of dam erection.
