FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering, in particular to bearings with gas or liquid lubrication which are used for suspending shafts, rotors of fast-speed mechanisms of different purpose characterised by complicated load of bearing elements. Leaf gas bearing unit comprises a movable plate mounted on the movable mechanism element and a fixed plate mounted on the fixed mechanism element. The fixed plate is equipped with supporting elements and overlapping elastic leaves, each of the latter is fastened on the supporting element on the one end and is rested on the movable plate on the other end. During mounting and demounting the movable and fixed plates are rigidly fixed in respect to each other by two locks that are controlled by a key of direct or remote action. Both plates are cylindrical. The fixed plate length exceeds that of the movable plate by the bearing axial play value within the inequality a<b, where: a - the bearing axial play, b - distance between the bearing leaf edge and the movable support edge. Versions of the leaf gas bearing unit are differed by the shape of the leaves and plates as well as by different dependence of the travelling compensation value.

EFFECT: increasing bearing capacity, reliability and processability of bearing units operating under aerodynamic friction conditions, expanding design range of bearing units according to the bearing force type and the supports compensation abilities, providing for operability of mechanisms under various loads, significantly increasing efficiency of the bearing supports and the whole mechanism.
