FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method for operation of water treatment filter comprising loose material, used in periodical mode, includes supply of water subject to treatment for filtration and diversion of treated water for consumption. If treated water consumption is reduced or stopped, permanent rate of filtration is maintained by supply of controlled amount of treated water to filter inlet, at that supply of water subject to treatment is reduced or stopped. Treated water is accumulated in buffer reservoir. Device for water treatment used in periodical mode comprises serially connected pump device and filter comprising loose material, treated water reservoir installed at the filter outlet, circulating pump device connected to reservoir. At that outlet of circulating pump device is connected to filter inlet, and pump device comprises devices for control of treated water flow and control of water flow subject to treatment. Loose material for filter used is sand.
EFFECT: higher quality of water treatment and saving of water resources.
