FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: in bottom section of countercurrent tower 80-95% of chlorine is absorbed from gas mix containing 5-50 volume % of chlorine by main absorbent flow at (-5) ÷ (+15)°C. Remaining chlorine is absorbed in top tower section by additional absorbent flow comprising 5-15% of the total volume and cooled to temperature below (-5)°C. Chlorine is desorbed at excessive pressure of 0.8-1.2 MPa and liquefied by recycle water. Saturated absorbent is heated by heat of recovered absorbent. Main absorbent flow is cooled to work temperature by the cold of evaporating chlorine.
EFFECT: reduced energy supply required.
