FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: piston comprises head, guide and extended stem. Nonrigid supporting cap is put on upper end of stem, at that stem enters head of piston until cap rests against head bottom. Piston head comprises thinned bottom and massive extended hub that is distanced from bottom and has large surface of contact with stem, which assists in heat removal from bottom to stem, and also makes it possible to use extended bolts for head fastening to stem flange. Such arrangement makes it possible to simplify piston design and to reduce thermal stress of bottom.

EFFECT: simplification of piston design and reduction of bottom thermal stress.
