FIELD: construction, road engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to railway transport, in particular to design of joints in rail lengths. Complex rail joint includes extended joint pad, in the middle of which joint insert is fixed by means of welding. Joint pad with their ends is fixed on two adjacent sleepers. Ends of joined rails are fixed to joint pad with gaps between ends of rails and ends of joint insert, value of which twice less than gaps produced in ordinary joints.
EFFECT: reduced butt joints, effect of theft and overlapping of joint of single length relative to the other with preservation of operational characteristics of railway bed that operates under variable temperature and loading conditions.
