FIELD: physics, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention describes systems and methods for control of power level of mobile station in periods, when mobile station does not transmit data. In one of versions data is periodically transmitted from mobile station to base station through channel of return line traffic. If data is transmitted through traffic channel, then transmitted data is used by base station to perform operations of power control (for instance, to increase or to decrease power level of mobile station, using comparison of obtained ratio signal-noise (SNR) to target SNR). If data is not transmitted through traffic channel, "indicator of zero speed" is transmitted through speed indicator channel. Zero speed indicator is used by base station to perform operations of power control. Power control based on zero speed indicator may use speed profiles, metrics of validity or other methods for control of power level.

EFFECT: achievement of preferable SNR level, when data is not transmitted.
