FIELD: technological processes; tools.
SUBSTANCE: billet is installed and fixed on working mandrel, cutter heads are inclined to initial line at the same angle. At that cutting rims of cutters create initial contour of generating rack with standard angle of profile in middle section of processed wheel gear rim. Then rotary motion is imparted to billet with simultaneous feed of rolling action, and gear rim cavity is cut with further division of billet in tooth and reversal of its rolling for return to initial position. Cutter heads are inclined at the angle of their axes inclination that makes 20°-55° to provide hyperbolic character of tooth line.
EFFECT: expansion of technological and performance characteristics of cut gear wheels.
