FIELD: technological processes; transportation.

SUBSTANCE: in method for production of air tyres, protector is applied on prepared frame of air tyre by method of rubber mixture tape winding. Prior to protector winding, abrasive granules are applied on part of tape surface. Uniform distribution of granules is provided in worn part of protector after air tyre vulcanisation in die mold. Protector together with breaker are applied onto prepared frame in two stages. At the first stage profiled billet of undertread layer is applied from rubber mixture with specific tension of 5.5÷7.5 MPa and elongation of 300%, as well as minisides. At the second stage tread section is applied from protector rubber mixture filled with abrasive granules. Abrasive granules are not applied onto internal layer of protector tread section to prevent their ingress into undertread layer and reduction of abrasive granules amount in non-worn part of protector pattern. Total thickness H of wound rubber mixture layer at the second stage is defined as H=hb/t, where h is thickness of rubber tape, mm; b is its width, mm; t is winding pitch, mm. Protective layer of 0.5÷1.5 mm from protector rubber mixture is applied above assembled tyre stock with overlapping of tread section layers edges containing abrasive granules.

EFFECT: higher adhesion to road and improved performance characteristics.
