METHOD OF WILD BIRD INJURE-SAFE SCARING AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A01M29/00

Abstract RU 2348152 C2

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method of wild bird injure-safe scaring consists in a scaring sound effect generation. The sound scaring effect is combined with a smoke screen formation. Cloud of smoke is emitted in the outbound direction relative to the sound source approximately along the border of the zone wild birds are to be scared away from. Emission of smoke along the localised area border is effected in at least two separate instances in opposite directions and at a minimum interval of time between the instances. Location for the sound source positioning and smoke screen formation is to be selected either within the area between the birds aggregation spot(s) and the protected zone centre or on the other side of the centre. The wild bird scaring device consists of a blank cartridge, a smoke-charged bullet and a sealant disk. The bullet body is designed to be composed of a metal cylinder and an outwardly streamline head attached onto it. In the body bottom there are through-holes arranged positioned symmetrical to the vertical axis and covered from the outside with the sealant disk glued onto the body bottom surface. The cylinder cavity is filled with a smoke-generating compound, the head fabricated of a lightweight flame-retardant material. In the body lower part there is a circular wad inserted for placement inside the cartridge shell. The proposed method enables injure-safe scaring of wild birds combined with visual demarcation of the localised protected zone approximate borderlines aimed to provide for their visual memorisation by the birds to be scared away from them.

EFFECT: design simplification combined with fire safety enhancement.
