FIELD: technological processes; tools.

SUBSTANCE: method includes application of device for automatic replacement of tool comprising spindle carrier, which is arranged with possibility of displacement in axial direction, turret head for storage of one or more tools with multiple clamps installed along its periphery, installed with the possibility of rotation around rotary axis for positioning of required tool into position of tool replacement and with the possibility of incline around swivel axis for tool connection/disconnection to/from spindle, and mechanism for inclined displacement of turret head in direction to mentioned spindle and back, which uses axial displacement of spindle carrier. Target velocity curve is set for inclined displacement of turret head, its angular positions are calculated as time function of its inclined displacement, on the basis of mentioned target velocity curve; axial positions of mentioned spindle carrier are calculated as time function in compliance with angular positions of turret head as time functions, program of displacement is created, according to which spindle carrier takes calculated angular positions as time function and axial displacement of spindle carrier is controlled in compliance with created program of displacement with the help of NC device for replacement of tool fixed in spindle for the required one.
