FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to use of asparaginic acid derivative as a collector of calcic-phosphate-containing minerals, such as apatite, during foam floatation. The derivative has formula (I), where RI is a hydrophobic group, containing a hydrocarbon group with 6-24 carbon atoms; RII is an alkyl group with 1-7 carbon atoms or a group with formula (B)yH, where B is an alkyleneoxy group with 2-4 carbon atoms, y assumes values from 1 to 10; M is a group, selected from a group consisting of a cation or hydrogen. According to the method of producing the derivative, maleic acid or its salt is reacted in alkaline conditions with a primary amine, with subsequent reaction of the obtained intermediate compound with glycidyl ester. The obtained intermediate compound is then reacted with a halide compound.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of floatation.
