FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrified railway transport vehicles and aims at aims at increasing reliability of the devices controlling the traction motor excitation current. The proposed device to control DC traction motors of electrical rolling stock comprises an armature circuit of the set of traction motors, reactor (Lp) and fast-acting contactor (FAC) with its contacts shunted by resistor (R1). Excitation windings (OB1 and OB2) are connected in series and supplied from controlled rectified (U1) with its inputs shunted by thyristor (V1) with resistor (R2). In compliance with the proposed invention, reactor (Lp) is simultaneously connected into the armature circuit and that of excitation windings (OB1 and OB2) to provide for dynamic feedback with respect to excitation current.
EFFECT: smooth variation of current in excitation coils from zero to maximum, higher device reliability.
