FIELD: electric engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention deals with hardware power drives and may be used on the railway rolling-stock provided with the automatic parking brake. The method of fixing device operation in power drive provides for using fixing mechanism consisting of, among others, housing with actuated part being installed inside the housing. Both elements are pivotally linked with the power drive element and its frame. The power drive is intended for preserving elastic strain effort for the power drive under contingency when overload pressure effects from the actuating medium are made. The above mentioned preservation is performed by breaking of the actuated part with regard to the housing. The actuated part is provided with the additional drive, which is affected by the overload pressure causing power drive operation. As a result, they ensure additional force impact on the actuated part and select clearances in their pivotal linking under mutual displacement of actuated part and housing.

EFFECT: clearances in pivotal connection of power drive do not any more influence on elastic strain level preserved by the fixing mechanism.
