FIELD: construction industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for controlling the quality of compaction of macrofragmental earth mixtures with small fractions when erecting water seals, for example, cores, screens, fore aprons, quality hydrotechnical, automobile and railroad earth fills, as well as for bases. Quality control method of earth mixture compaction involves sampling of earth mixture, determining of volume and mass of sample, density of coarse particles and content of small particles of sample, performing quality control of compaction in terms of density of small-particle earth, and determining density of earth mixture. At check points of compacted layer of earth mixture there shall be manually dug mini-pits Vp=0.5-1.0 l. Volume of mini-pit is measured by filling the pit with calibration homogeneous dry coarse sand or by filling it with water, but first, bottom and walls of mini-pit shall be isolated with thin waterproof film. At that in the area where there were mini-pits there sampled is 100-150 g of earth mixture, and then those samples are sieved in order to separate fine earth, and its humidity Wf.e. is determined. Earth mixture sample taken from mini-pit is weighed, mass of sample mp is determined and density ρp of earth mixture is calculated by dividing mass mp of earth mixture taken from mini-pit by the volume of mini-pit Vp. Weighed earth mixture is dried to the constant value and weighed, and humidity Wp and density of dry earth of earth mixture ρdp in mini-pit is determined. Dried mixture is washed on the sieve, and sieve residue is dried to the constant value; density of coarse earth particles psc.e. and mass of coarse earth mc.e. is determined, and as per difference of masses of mixture mp and coarse earth mc.e. there calculated is mass of fine earth mf.e. in mini-pit. According to the obtained values there determined is content of fine earth in mini-pit by dividing mass mf.e. of dry fine earth in mini-pit by mass mp of dried mixture taken from mini-pit; as per the obtained results there determined is density of dry fine earth according to the above relations. In addition from several mini-pits, for example from 5 of them there sampled is one big sample of 500 to 1500 kg; without measuring the volume of sample for determining fine earth content Pf.e. of earth mixture of full particle-size distribution, as per the obtained data there determined is density of dry earth of earth mixture of full particle-size distribution according to the above relations.

EFFECT: improving measuring accuracy and efficiency, and reducing labour intensity.
