SEISMOACOUSTIC METHOD OF CONTROL OVER QUANTITY OF LAYING OF INHOMOGENEOUS SOILS IN EMBANKMENT Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: construction industry. SUBSTANCE: seismoacoustic method of control over quality of laying of inhomogeneous soils in embankment involves preliminary determination of soil density with measurement of velocity of passing of longitudinal elastic waves in experimental embankments and establishment of correlation dependences between measured characteristics, measurement of velocity of passing of longitudinal elastic waves in controlled embankment and evaluation of quality of laying of soil with the use of established correlation dependences. In experimental embankment velocity of lateral elastic waves and characteristics of damping of them in soils of various granulometric composition are measured simultaneously and in addition to measurement of velocity of longitudinal elastic waves, multiparameter dependences between density and granulometric composition of soil and all measured seismoacoustic characteristics of soil are established. In controlled embankment measurements of specified seismoacoustic characteristics are conducted and density of laid soil and indices of its granulometric composition are determined by measured data using established multiparameter correlation dependences. Quality of laying of soil is evacuevaluated by them. Measurement of seismoacoustic characteristics is performed by multipoint system on different bases.
