FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: fibre-optical multicontact connection (MCC) microchip includes optical transmitter and signal receiver arrays, telecommunications circuit switching medium and fibre-optic connectors. Microchips are coupled with the same through multicontact fibre-optic buses; furthermore it is possible to provide on-chip connections within the microchip using external fibre-optic busses.
EFFECT: higher specific interchip transmission rate in thousand times, simplified manufacturing technology for very large microchip arrays.
