FIELD: mechanics, tools.
SUBSTANCE: proposed chuck is designed to position and clamp ring-like workpieces along inner axiradial grooves and comprises clamping wedges, casing accommodating cams seated in casing slots and furnished with radial-motion working elements. Every aforesaid cam is provided with two equal-size cylindrical slides with common axis parallel to groove generating line. Said cams are held in place by expansion springs and are arranged mirror-like with respect to the groove centre to synchronously move till contact with the groove end faces and trapezoidal pressure wedge that clamps the workpiece by radial in its contact with the groove generating line. In compliance with another version, every cam, in axial direction of the workpiece, has clamping stage and rectangular opening accommodating equal-arm three-sheet spring made from hardened strip spring steel. The upper sheet of the said spring incorporates balls on its ends to interact with the said groove end faces and its generating line that allows the groove radial motion forced by positioning and clamping forces of the plunger compressed spring, the plunger being arranged radially along the groove axis.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and efficiency of machining.
