FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for making sorbents, catalyst supports, ferromagnetic ink, graphite copy pigments, carbon and polymeric composite extenders, deoxidising agents for steelmaking and powder metallurgy. Gas generated from liquid hydrocarbon electrocracking, containing acetylene and hydrogen, consumed 1400-1700 hour-1, is exposed to catalytic thermal decomposition at 250÷300°C on catalyst based on carbide forming metals of VIII group.
EFFECT: higher processing rate, temperature reduction and higher carbon generation rate, higher end product yield.
