FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed pump comprises, at least, two feed cylinders (3, 5) feeding viscous material from preliminary filling hopper (7) into feed line. The pump incorporates switching valve (9) to connect feed cylinders, in turn, to the said feed line. Switching valve (9) incorporates, at least, two rotary valve elements each furnished with transfer compartment (15L, 17L) that, in the state of transfer, comes into position behind the feed cylinder to communicate with manifold (19). In compliance with this invention, switching valve (9) comprises, at least, two rotary control valves (15, 17; 15', 17'; 15", 17") each furnished with rectilinear transfer compartment (15L, 17L) that ensures communicating appropriate feed cylinder (3, 5) with the feed line and, at least, one compartment that blocks the above communication. Rotary control valve (15, 17; 15', 17'; 15", 17") is divided along its circumference into, at least, three compartments, one of which is transfer compartment (15L, 7L), while the other one makes inlet compartment (15E, 17E). The invention incorporates also method of controlling operation of pump feeding continuously viscous materials.
EFFECT: continuous feed, no pulsation of viscous materials in feed line.
