SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to radio communication and can be used for demodulating amplitude-shift keyed and amplitude-modulated (AM) signals. In the method and device for demodulating AM signals, the demodulator is connected between the source of radio-frequency AM signals and a low frequency load and is made from a cascade connection of a quadripole, non-linear component, low-pass filter, connected in series with a dividing capacitor and a low-frequency load. Using the low-pass filter, the low-frequency data signal is separated, the amplitude of which varies according to the law of variation of the amplitude of the input AM signal. The non-linear component used is bipolar and is connected between the source of radio-frequency AM signals and the quadripole or between the quadripole and a low frequency load, connected in a linear (series) or transverse (parallel) circuit. The quadripole is made from not less than three resistive bipoles, whose parameter values are chosen from a condition, providing for given values of modules the transmission coefficient of the demodulator in two states of the non-linear component, defined by two extreme values of the input AM signal.
