FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: oval in gauges system oval-circle is implemented with its relation width B to design height H and symmetrical with respect to its horizontal and vertical axis with moving line of gauge cross-section, containing in the mid straight-line portion in length Bg and two curvilinear portions each formed by two radius R and r<R. Improvement of roll stability in gauges of operating stand of light-section mill and, as a consequence, dimensional accuracy increasing of rolled metal is provided ensured by value r=0.5Rg, where Rg - radius of subsequent roundup groove, and and junction point of radius circle R and r is situated on the distance πrβ/180 from gauge horizontal axis by its generatrix, where β=33°…58°, value Bg=2Rsinα, where α - angle between gauge vertical axis and radius R with the end in the cross point of straight-line portion with radius arc R, equal to 11°…29°; length of straight-line portion Bg can be (0.35…0,56)B.
EFFECT: improvement of section round ensured by dimensional accuracy increasing.
