FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine production. Method of operating the thermal engine with variable-volume chambers and actuator representing a piston comprises four ICE strokes plus a stroke of water injection into working stroke chamber, i.e. water combustion chamber. Water injection is performed after completion of the fuel mix main portion combustion. Engine tight chambers are thermally isolated from ambient medium by the Dewar vessel method. Pressure difference of the chambers outer surfaces is leveled by, for example, coating the said surfaces with a material that features the maximum conductivity factor, for example a copper-based material. Pressure difference of the chambers inner surfaces is leveled by the "thermal pipe" method. The thermal rotor engine combustion chamber houses water injectors.
EFFECT: higher engine efficiency and reduced harmful emissions.
