FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine drives. The proposed internal combustion engine comprises a housing with cylindrical working chamber and rotor-piston group representing a flexible wheel running inside the said flexible wheel of wave generator and forming, with the housing and separating plates, the variable-volume chambers. The flexible wheels run over the working chamber inner surface driven by gas pressure. The variable-volume chambers perform the suction, compression, ignition and exhaust cycles. The multi-section engine features an angular shift of sections relative to each other. Separating plate guide slots are inclined radially and provided for minimum angles of pressure in the "flexible wheel-separating plate" joint. Pressure of fed gas creates a pneumatic cushion at the flexible wheel strain wave apexes on the side of cam-type wave generator. The latter is furnished with swinging bodies at the points of contact with the flexible wheel. The engine represents a multi-wave design with increased number of separating plates.
EFFECT: balanced engine design, reduced friction.
