FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for explosives detection, for atmospheric pollution and environmental quality control/monitoring, for in-place monitoring. Invention concerns application as a sensing material in nitrocompound sensor, of at least one polymer containing one repeating unit of formula (I): where: X and Y stand for single bond or linear hydrocarbon group of 1-50 carbon atoms; R1 and R2 stand for hydrogen atom, CN, C(Z)3, CH(Z)2, CH2Z, where Z is halogen atom; NH2, NHR3, HR3R4 where R3 and R4 stand for halogen atom, CH3 or hydrocarbon chain, linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, of 2-20 carbon atoms and optionally of one or more heteroatoms and/or functional groups containing at least one heteroatom at least one of R1 or R2 is not hydrogen atom, or application of the composite containing the specified polymer and one or more current-conducting fillers. The sensors containing polymer or composite described above as a sensitive material gain many advantages, namely: nitrocompound detectivity, specifically aromatic nitrocompounds, thus maintaining very high sensitivity as these sensors are capable to detect them if concentrated 1 fr./million, even 1/10 fr./million; high response rate and reproducibility; continuous running; performance stability over time; very tolerable service life; production costs are compatible to large-scale production, small amount of polymer or composite (i.e. practically some mg) required for sensor manufacturing; miniature design and, hence, ease of handling and any environmental application.
EFFECT: ensured nitrocompound detectivity reception thus maintaining very high sensitivity; continuous running; performance stability over time; very tolerable service life; reduced production costs.
