FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to bipolar electrodes of chemical current sources and may be used for back-up current sources manufacturing with flowing alkali electrolyte produced by dry alkali (potassium or natrium) dilution with sea water. Bipolar electrode consists of aluminium alloy anode, silver oxide cathode, electric conducting base plate applied to either of anode sides, separator applied to the other anode side. The bipolar electrode is put into thermoplastic polymer package where distribution header is available for electrolyte circulation. The distribution header is in the form of open-end hole with supply channel. The other distribution header is composite and in the form of open-end hole with discharge channel. The ratio between open-end holes flow areas is 1.45-1.70, while supply channel and discharge channel length ratio to the diameter of the proper holes is 10-50.
EFFECT: reducing losses by leakage current and avoiding hydraulic resistance in flowing part of electrode, increasing power and electric capacity of battery.
