METHOD FOR PRODUCING RECONSTITUTED TOBACCO Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A24B3/14 

FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the technology of tobacco refuse processing. The method involves extracting cherry waste with liquid carbon dioxide and separating a respective miscella. Then the tobacco material is mixed up with a non-polar liquefied gas. The material is extracted and shredded by relieving periodically the pressure in the extraction mixture below the extractant moist steam pressure at extraction temperature. Then the miscella and meal are separated, a respective extract is taken from the miscella, and the meal is suspended in an aqueous solution of an edible acid. Then an edible polyatomic alcohol is introduced into the suspension. The suspension is formed, dried to a residual humidity of 13-15%, cut and treated with the gas-liquid tobacco extract and separated CO₂ miscella by raising simultaneously the pressure. Then the pressure is relieved to atmospheric one by freezing simultaneously the soaked carbon dioxide and the latter is sublimed to obtain a target product in the residue.

EFFECT: improved organoleptical properties of the reconstituted tobacco and shortened duration of the technological process.
