METHOD OF PRODUCING RECONSTITUTED TOBACCO Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A24B3/14 

FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the technology of tobacco refuse processing. The method involves extracting pear waste with liquid carbon dioxide and separating a respective miscella. The tobacco material is mixed with liquid carbon dioxide. The material is extracted and shredded by relieving periodically the pressure in the extraction mixture below the pressure of carbon dioxide moist steam at extraction temperature. The miscella and meal are separated. The obtained miscellas are joined together. The oil meal is suspended in an aqueous solution of an edible acid and an edible polyatomic alcohol is introduced into the suspension. It is formed, dried to a residual humidity of 13-15%, cut and treated with the miscellas mixture by raising simultaneously the pressure. The pressure is relieved to atmospheric one by freezing simultaneously the soaked carbon dioxide. The latter is sublimed to obtain a target product in the residue.

EFFECT: improved organoleptical properties of the reconstituted tobacco and shortened duration of the technological process.
