FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and mechanical engineering field and can be used for tempering of products, implemented from structural and alloy steels. For range extension of tempering in cooling medium of products from different materials ensured by control of heat extraction intensity it is implemented heating of products till the austenitising temperature and it is implemented heat withdrawal with usage of two-phase hardening compound in the form of water-air foam with excessive pressure till 0.6 atm. Feeding of hardening compound on the surface of the product is implemented simultaneously and evenly by all surface through sprayer and intensity of hardening compound feeding and its composition changing is regulated on the basis of required modes of heat withdrawal for products made of structural and alloyed steels. Additionally hardening compound corresponding two-phase water-air foam, it is created preliminary in sprayer by means of water and air mixing at particular temperatures and pressures.
EFFECT: tempering range extension in cooling medium.
