FIELD: heat treatment of articles at high-frequency heating; hardening of heavily loaded long-cut articles. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes inductive heating to austenitization temperature and cyclic pulse cooling performed in continuous successive mode in open circular sprayers moving relative to revolving article; said sprayers have different angles of contact which decrease in way of their motion; each of them performs respective cycle of pulse cooling. In between cycles, surface is heated due to heat accumulated inside article. Intensity of pulse cooling depends on angle of contact with article by respective sprayer; frequency of pulses is similar for all cycles and is equal to rotational speed of article. Proposed device includes circular sprayers made in form of open rings at different angle of contact with article which decreases in way of motion.
