FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: using an automatic switch, the pair of conductors to be checked is connected to a capacitance-to-frequency converter, implemented on a timer. A pulse signal from the converter is sent to a processor, where frequency or pulse ratio of the input signal is measured. Switching pairs of conductors from the common bundle using the automatic switch, such measurements are made for all pairs in the bundle. From analysing results of such measurements, a table is displayed on a display plotter, showing the number of twisted conductors instead of pairs, as well as capacitance value, measured for each twisted pair.
EFFECT: possibility of determining convolution of conductors in a strong electromagnetic field, increased accuracy in short conductors and insulated twisted pairs, reduced costs.
