SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of position determination for moving object, predominantly for vessel by three distances measured by means of instrument facilities relive to landmarks, and intended for vessel position determination. Method for vessel position determination by three distances comprises measurement of distances to landmarks by means of radar aids, positioning of landmarks, evaluation of location positioning accuracy. Additionally in this process, distances between ranged landmarks are determined. Evaluation of positioning accuracy is performed by means of determinant.

EFFECT: increase in reliability of vessel position evaluation.
