FIELD: transportation; radar ranging and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the vehicle (VE) location determining. Technical result is achieved due to the fact, that as the analyzed parameters of the base polygons and polygons formed by the observed fixed targets, using only the internal geometry parameters of the polygons, which are not related to the reference points geographical position: the sides length, the vertices corners, the perimeter or area, maximum to the minimum side ratio. According to the invention, the VE locating method according to the radar reference points does not use reference points radar signatures, which are difficult to maintain in the actual state for reference points fields with considerable length. Method allows to automatically determine the vehicle location by radar reference points in addition to the GNSS or instead of GNSS in the event of its failure or degradation, without the use of the reference points radar signatures.
EFFECT: reliable identification of radar targets by eliminating the VE estimated position error and the course indicator systematic error influence on the targets identification results.
