FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: in communication system based on multiple access with code division (CDMA) comprising terminals which exchange data with Internet-gateways via, for example at least one random access channel oriented on channel reservation, various control schemes for communication traffic between channels are provided. Decision concerning channel over which given terminal can perform transmission may be based on: traffic statistics (such as packet size or average data rate for time period), traffic content (such as packet type), terminal output buffer utilisation (queue status or "Q-status"), history of terminal output buffer utilisation (one or more Q-statuses). In one application version decision during managing in user on-line Web-browsing sessions may include intellectual determination if terminal is busy on the basis of traffic analysis or output buffer utilisation.

EFFECT: improvement of traffic control efficiency in communication networks with heterogeneous links.
