FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: method to control switching of a target station from serving sent packages to serving newly arrived packages in process of service transfer from an initial station to a target station in a communication network, comprising an access gateway, consists in starting a timer after indication on a service transfer, reception of packages sent by the initial station, in their transfer to the terminal, until the timer is in service. The timer is restarted every time, when a sent package has been received, and the timer time has not elapsed, and switching to sending newly arrived packages received from the access gateway for transfer to the terminal upon elapsing of the timer time.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of package data service transfer management between basic stations in a mobile communication system.
