FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgical production, particularly, to rectangular-profiled pipes production. The method includes production of cylindrical pipe, profiling and cutting. In addition, the cylindrical pipe is cut by multi-blade pipe-cutting machine when it is chucked from two sides along cutting line. Besides, the pipe end is gripped by hydraulically driven straight-line guide to hold it during cutting. After that, in order to inset the front end of the pipe into the profiling rolls, it is squeezed until it is profiled as finished product. The multi-blade pipe-cutting machine will significantly reduce the mill downtime when high-strength pipes are cut using hard-alloy blades. The use of one-size blades will make blade replacement easier and a bevel on round pipe will remain on the rectangular profile.
EFFECT: method and line for rectangular pipe production will improve performance indicators of rolling mill.
