SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to analysis of the structure of the bottom of water bodies and can be used in interpreting results of seismic exploration in the ocean. The depth and width uncompacted sediments in a local region are measured, with their constant material composition, for example, with deep sea sedimentation. The bulk weight of the water column and the average bulk weight of the layer of uncompacted sediments are measured. The graph of phase change of uncompacted sediments into compacted is measured or preset, under the condition of constant pressure at the boundary as a function of the relationship between the width of uncompacted sediments and depth. The relative positive vertical component of crustal movement for each point of observation is determined with accuracy of an arbitrary constant.
EFFECT: possibility of detecting fields of a positive vertical component of crustal movement.
