FIELD: physics, measurements.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acoustic seismic survey and is designed to detect tsunami waves. In compliance with the proposed invention, the acoustic receiving station is installed on the coast with its several acoustic pickups submerged. Note here that one or several acoustic emission pickups are located in near-surface waveguide, the second or several pickups are located in air in near-surface and/or uplifted waveguides, while third pickup or a setoff pickups are installed in the earth crust. Acoustic emission generated by above-centre processes in water, atmosphere and tsunami waves. Abnormal acoustic emissions representing increased acoustic emission energy compared to background emission, and/or its spectrum shift towards low frequencies, and/or modulated acoustic signals in tsunami wave hydrodynamic frequency range are isolated. One or the set of the aforesaid symptoms are taken to be a sign of detected tsunami wave.
