FIELD: physics; control.

SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to enhancement of automatic regulators and systems for regulating temperature of cooling media (water, oil etc.) of thermal engines, for example, internal combustion engines. The microprocessor compound temperature regulator of thermal engines has a temperature sensor of the cooling medium with an amplifier and a three-way bypass valve with an actuating mechanism. The regulator also has a temperature sensor of the external cooling air, power sensor of the thermal engine and a flow sensor of the cooling medium flowing through the heat pump of the thermal engine. These four sensors are connected to a microprocessor controller, which has a program for operation in accordance with a mathematical model of the cooling system of the thermal engine as an object of temperature regulation in statics, and is meant for automatic variation of the transfer constant of the temperature regulator using output signals of these four sensors.

EFFECT: lower fuel consumption and increased efficiency of the thermal engine.
