OPTIMISATION OF CHANNEL ASSESSMENT FOR MULTIPLE TRANSFER MODES Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC H04B17/00

Abstract RU 2355114 C1

FIELD: physics, communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns data transfer and can be applied in channel assessment in communication system with orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) supporting multiple communication modes. One of assessment methods involves obtaining primary assessment of frequency response for first set of P equidistant subranges on the basis of channel amplification coefficient assessment for second set of irregularly distanced subranges, assessment of channel impulse parametre in time on the basis of primary assessment of frequency response, final assessment of frequency response for each mode within each radio channel symbol. One of devices for channel assessment in communication system with orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) includes conversion module configured for generation of channel impulse parametre based on OFDM symbol, with channel impulse parametre including multiple marks, mode-dependent processing site connected to conversion module, configured for processing of multiple marks on the basis of mode of accepted data subrange and intended for generation of processed channel impulse parametre, frequency conversion module connected to mode-dependent processing site and configured for conversion of processed channel impulse parametre into final assessment of channel frequency response.

EFFECT: improved quality of radio channel assessment.
