SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to detection and decoding data using a method which takes into account protective subranges. A receiver receives symbols of control signals for subranges of the control signals and data symbols for data subranges. Channel estimations are made based on the received symbols of control signals with zeroed subranges of control signals, filled with zeros. Data are detected from the received data symbols through channel estimation so as to obtain estimations of data symbols. Noise and estimation errors are evaluated, resulting from zeroed subranges of control signals. Logarithmic probability estimation ratios are then calculated, based on estimations of data symbols, channel estimations and estimation of noise and estimation errors. The logarithmic probability estimation ratios are reverse interleaved and decoded, obtaining decoded data.
