SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a plate for bring gas and liquid into contact, horizontally placed on a normal vertical column. The plate has a round panel with a top and bottom surface. This panel has gas conduits between the top and bottom surfaces. The virtual centre line of the panel borders two semicircular sections of the plate, and three overflow pipes for directing liquid from the top surface of the panel to the bottom of the plate. Each overflow pipe runs from the inlet opening, located on the panel, to the outlet opening under the plate. Two of the overflow pipes are at the corners of one of the semicircular sections of the plate, while the third overflow pipe is on the other section of the plate, along the radius of the plate, which is perpendicular the centre line.
EFFECT: proposed plate has high capacity for transporting liquid, particularly in small columns, provides for efficient operation, as well as cost effectiveness of making the plate.
