FIELD: welding works.
SUBSTANCE: proposed composite electrode wire consists of a metal pipe with a cavity in which is put a mixture of slag-forming and gas-forming components. On the surface of the metal pipe a composite coating is deposited, consisting of a metal matrix with a dispersed phase from activating flux distributed in it. This coating provides for good electrical contact of the wire with the current conducting burner tip and efficient effect on the arc of activating components of the coating, which are in contact with the arc, and increase its melting capacity. When the coating melts, cinder is formed which reduces surface tension of the metal. This reduces the diametre and mass of the globule, which improves transfer of the globule from the electrode metal to the welding bath. Coating can be deposited on the inner or outer surface of the metal pipe.
EFFECT: invention can be used in arc welding and weld depositing of metallic objects.
