FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of automated engraving and method for creation of half-tone image in functional layer of item. Creation of image elements in functional layer of item per full depth is realised so that integral shape-generating motion of tool makes it possible to carry out treatment in mode of dynamic micro-cutting. Complete rated depth of every structural element of image is formed for the period of time between two serial control pulses coming from the fourth outlet of programmable controller, which is functionally a control channel of electromechanical converter. Shape-generating motion of tool is realised by means of two independent drives: electromechanical converter, core of which sends kinetic energy to tool in the mode of pulse impact load for realisation of reciprocal motion; and also pneumatic drive that provides for tool rotation with preset frequency, which is related to speed of tool reciprocal motion in certain manner.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve contrast, to increase quality of formed image and also process efficiency.
